Christmas 1970

By | Dec 25, 2009
Waxing a bit nostalgic this holiday season, I went through some old 8mm home movies that I had digitized a few years ago and found this classic shot on Christmas Day, 1970. It was tradition to open presents on Christmas morning at home, then head to my aunt’s and uncle’s house in Flemington, NJ for Christmas dinner (and more presents!). This film was shot by my uncle “Johnny” with his Bell and Howell “Director Reflex” double 8mm movie camera on Kodachrome 25 film. Highlights include my three older sisters showing off their Christmas presents, an air band performance by two of my sisters and me, and me showing off some whirlygig contraption that I made with Mattel Tog’l Toys (my Christmas present). Later we head outside into the snow to burn off all that Christmas candy.
