The fourth offering in Tamiya’s Racing Master series of radio controlled kits, the C100 models one of the first cars to participate in Group C racing.
The C100 was the only Racing Master kit to feature a hard plastic body. The previous kits (Lola, Datsun, and Tornado) all came with clear polycarbonate bodies. Otherwise, packaging is typical Tamiya for the time period.
Box art illustrates that the C100 featured a standard RS540 can motor and a mechanical speed controller.
Additional box art shows component features and chassis layout.
A 3-D illustration of the chassis layout give further clarification of how the components are arranged. Also shown, but not included in the kit, is a 6v 5-cell nicad battery pack, which could be swapped out for a more powerful 7.2v 6-cell “hump pack” battery.
