Tamiya Hot Shot (1984, 2007)
Once kits like the Frog and Hornet got re-issued, you knew it was only a matter of time before a new Hot Shot appeared.
Box contents. So far so good. I see a lot of familiar-looking pieces.
Box are confirms the similarities with the original, right down to the, yes, polished heat sink “domes” just behind the top wing mount. But wait, the new Hot Shot has an electronic speed controller, so why the heat sinks? Turns out these are just for show. Nice touch, Tamiya!
Color-coded mechanical schematic. Once again the inclusion of the heat sinks is confirmed. The description on the box refers to them as “dummy heat sinks”.
Detail suspension drawings show faithfulness to the original. The monoshock suspension was one of the visual highlights of the Hot Shot.
Accessories need to get the Hot Shot running and some optional hop-up parts.
