Tamiya Black Porsche Discontinued

Both Tower Hobbies and Horizon Hobbies don’t have the model in stock anymore. Horizon lists the item as discontinued, while Tower displays stock status vaguely as “unavailable” with no due date.
I had two pre-ordered from Horizon and the orders were never fulfilled. The rumor from the local hobby shop said that demand was low here in the U.S., so they never made it to U.S. shores. I’m not sure about all that, but if it’s true, then this kit looks destined to become a real collectors item.
